Prices and conditions 2021

The prices and conditions below apply to all guiding services booked through the Tourist Guide Association’s office or its website.

The prices are effective in 2021.


Transfer: (not guiding), max. 2 hours ………. DKK 800/ € 108
Plus possible supplements.
More than 2 hours: per commenced hour ………. DKK 375/ € 51

Guiding in a coach (max. 45 people – coach hire not included): up to 3 hours ….. DKK 1.700/ € 228
(can include one castle or museum visit)
after which, per commenced hour ………. DKK 375/ € 51

After 8 hours please refer to the overtime supplements.

Guided walks:
Max 23 persons up to 2½ hours ………. DKK 1.700/ € 228
after which, per commenced hour ………. DKK 375/ € 51

Bicycle tours:
Max 15 persons, up to 2½ hours ………. DKK 1.700/ € 228
after which, per commenced hour ………. DKK 375/ € 51

Overtime supplement:
An overtime supplement is charged for guide services in excess of eight hours: DKK 188/ € 25 per hour for the first 2 additional hours, thereafter DKK 375/ € 51 per hour.

Supplement for staggered hours:
A supplement is charged for services rendered between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. (22.00 – 08.00) of DKK 375/ € 51 per hour.
(However, when the supplement for staggered hours and overtime coincide, the supplement for overtime no longer applies).

Transport supplement:
For tours to or from sites outside central Copenhagen (public transport zone 1) payment is required for the necessary travel time of the tourist guide, with a minimum supplement corresponding to the charge for 1 hour. In addition, the actual cost of the guide’s transport to/from Copenhagen Central Station has to be paid by the customer.

Please note that Copenhagen Airport is situated outside public transport zone 1.

Harbour Supplement:
For tours starting or ending at Copenhagen Harbour, a supplement of 1 hour is charged. If a tour starts and ends at Copenhagen Harbour, only 1 additional hour is charged.

Language supplement:
When guiding in more than one language, a supplement of DKK 500 / € 67 applies per additional language for the first 3 hours. Additional hours are paid at DKK 200 / € 27 per commenced hour per language.

Translation supplement:
An additional DKK 375/ € 51 pr. hour is charged for translation services.

All supplements are to be paid for each commenced hour.

When special preparation for a tour is needed at the request of the employer (or the guide), an agreement for special payment must be made based on the hourly rate plus any expenses incurred.

Tours of two or more days:
A daily fee corresponding to minimum 8 hours ( DKK 3.500,00/€470), is charged for tours of two or more days on which the tourist guide functions as the tour leader. The tourist guide is entitled to board and lodging (single room with shower) on all tours in excess of one day.

Please note the following definitions of a tourist guide versus a tour manager, according CEN Standard EN:13809:2003:

Tourist guide: person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural and natural heritage of an area, which person normally possesses an area-specific qualification usually issued and/or recognised by the appropriate authority.

Tour manager: person who manages and supervises the itinerary on behalf of the tour operator, ensuring the program is carried out as described in the tour operator’s literature and sold to the traveller/consumer and who gives local practical information.

Meal allowance:
For tours of 5 hours or longer, when no meal is provided free of charge, the guide is entitled to a meal allowance as follows:

until 2.30 p.m. (14.30), per meal ………. DKK 150 / € 20
after2.30 p.m. (14.30), per meal ………. DKK 200 / € 27

Cancellation fee:
In the event of cancellation within 24 hours before the scheduled start of a tour, or in the event of “no-show”, the full amount for the tour must be paid.
A fee of DKK 1.700/Euro 228 is charged for cancellation within 72 hours of the start of a tour.
The starting time of a tour is calculated from 08:00am on the date booked, unless otherwise agreed at least 72 hours before this time.

The tourist guide is to be paid in cash before the tour starts unless an alternative agreement is made. All expenses with regard to payment by transfer are to be paid by the customer.
